Bank of America will dismiss 35,000 employees

New York, - Bank of America is planning a mem-lay 30,000 to 35,000 employees within three years amid declining economy and the acquisition of Merrill & Co. Lycnh.

Cutting employees this affect about 11 percent of workers to achieve a combination of 308,000. Bank of America itself berkaryawan 247,000. Meanwhile, Merrill 61000.

Bank of America says cutting the number of employees reflects this delay mergers in line with the "weakening economic situation that affects the level of business activity."

It is said, the cutting is done both this company and affect future unit employees and business lines available. The number of employees who want to end this was not determined until the end of 2009, and "as much as possible."

The Charlotte, North Carolina bank announced the lay of less than four week after Citigroup Inc. plan to reduce 52,000 employees, or 15 percent of all employees until the end of 2009.

The shareholders of Bank of America and Merrill agree to mergers on 5 December last. Merrill tranksaksi value around 20.5 billion dollars on the closing day Thursday.
Bank of America shares closed Thursday down 1.78 dollars or 10.7 percent to 14.91 dollars. Meanwhile, Merrill fell 1.43 dollars or the 10.1 percent to 12.67 dollars. Merger is expected to close on 1 January 2009, said the Bank of America. Combinations of these companies could be the greatest asset in the U.S..
